iPad apps designed for the screen, not stretched

An iPad isn't a big iPhone. It's a clipboard, a kiosk, a point of sale, a patient intake station, a technician's field office, and a presentation tool. We design and build iPad applications for how the device is actually used in business, with the layouts, input methods, and multitasking that iPadOS makes possible.

A different device with different jobs

iPhone apps stretched onto an iPad look like exactly what they are. We design for the larger canvas from the first sketch.

A good fit if you

  • Use iPads at a front desk, in a clinic, on a showroom floor, or in the field
  • Need forms, signatures, sketches, or annotations that a phone screen can't handle
  • Want a kiosk, check-in, or point-of-sale experience customers use unassisted
  • Have staff who work with two things at once and need split-screen
  • Present, demonstrate, or sell face to face and want the device to carry the pitch

iPad app development is its own discipline. The screen supports layouts a phone can't: side-by-side panels, persistent navigation, detail views next to lists. Apple Pencil enables handwriting, signatures, sketches, and markup. Multitasking lets a user keep your app open beside another. External keyboards, trackpads, and displays turn it into a workstation. An app that ignores all of that is leaving most of the device unused.

We build iPad applications for three kinds of use. Business apps for staff: intake, forms, inspections, inventory, and sales tools designed for a shift, not a glance. Enterprise apps that connect to your systems and run inside managed device fleets. Consumer apps where the larger screen is the point: catalogs, configurators, learning, and content.

The complete lifecycle is ours to handle: planning, iPadOS-specific UI/UX, architecture, development in Swift and SwiftUI, AI integration, testing across iPad models, App Store or enterprise deployment, and ongoing support. Where a companion iPhone app or a web platform is part of the picture, we design them together so the data and the experience stay consistent.

What we build for iPad

Applications shaped by the device and the job, from unattended kiosks to field tools that work offline.

Tools and stack we work in

  • Swift
  • SwiftUI
  • UIKit
  • PencilKit
  • Core Data
  • CloudKit
  • Firebase
  • Supabase
  • Apple Business Manager
  • MDM
  • Stripe Terminal
  • Square
  • TestFlight

Native Swift for performance and device access, with the Apple frameworks that make the iPad different: PencilKit, multitasking, and external display support. Managed deployment where the fleet is yours.

  • Point-of-sale and checkout apps

Fast, branded checkout with Apple Pay and card readers, inventory sync, receipts, and reporting for retail, restaurants, and service counters.

  • Intake, forms, and signature apps

Patient, client, and customer intake with Apple Pencil signatures, conditional forms, and secure sync to your practice or agency system.

  • Kiosk and self-service apps

Locked-down, unattended experiences for check-in, ordering, registration, and wayfinding, managed through Guided Access or device management.

  • Field and inspection apps

Photo capture, annotated diagrams, checklists, and reports built for the job site, with offline mode and sync when connected.

  • Sales and presentation apps

Catalogs, configurators, pricing tools, and proposals that carry a face-to-face pitch and capture the order on the spot.

  • Enterprise and managed deployment

Apps distributed through Apple Business Manager and MDM, with single sign-on and the controls IT requires.

  • Companion iPhone and web experiences

When the iPad app is one part of a system, the phone app and the web portal designed alongside it so everything stays in sync.

Where iPad apps change the workflow

The iPad earns its place wherever people work standing up, face to face, or with a stylus in hand.

Medical and aesthetic practices

Waiting-room intake and consent, treatment consultations with before-and-after imaging, and clinician charting that syncs to practice management within privacy requirements.

Home services and trades

Estimates with annotated photos and diagrams, on-site proposals with signatures, and inspection reports produced before the truck leaves.

Restaurants and hospitality

Tableside ordering and payment, host-stand waitlists, self-order kiosks, and back-of-house inventory and checklists.

Retail and showrooms

Assisted selling with the full catalog, product configurators, endless-aisle ordering, and checkout anywhere on the floor.

Insurance and financial services

Application intake with signatures, document capture, needs analysis presentations, and compliance-safe disclosures on one screen.

Real estate and construction

Showing presentations, floor-plan markups, walkthrough documentation, and punch lists with photos and signatures.

Why the device changes the economics

We work with service businesses, practices, and showrooms, and the iPad keeps showing up at the exact moment money changes hands or a record gets created. The estimate signed on site closes at a higher rate than the one emailed later. The intake completed in the waiting room saves the staff hour that used to be spent typing it. The order taken tableside is larger than the one taken at the register.

So we build iPad apps as revenue tools, not IT projects. What has to happen at that counter, in that room, on that job site, for the business to make more or waste less. Then we design for the device that's actually in the person's hands, and we connect it to the systems and the marketing that surround it.

How we work

  1. Discovery and scope

What the app has to do for the business, who uses it, and what it replaces. We write the scope before we quote it, so the quote holds.

  2. Design and architecture

UI/UX in your brand, an architecture chosen for your roadmap, and a data model that won't need rebuilding in year two.

  3. Build and test

Sprint-based development, AI integration where it earns its place, and testing on real devices before submission.

  4. Launch and grow

Store submission, analytics, crash monitoring, and the part most dev shops skip: the marketing plan that gets it downloaded.

The same standards as everything else we do

  • You own the code and the IP

Repositories, store accounts, certificates, and design files are registered to you from day one.

  • Scoped before it's quoted

We write down what the app does before we tell you what it costs, so the number doesn't drift.

  • Senior people, always

The architect in the first call is the one reviewing every pull request.

  • Built to be marketed

We're the agency that also runs your app install campaigns, ASO, and launch. Most dev shops hand over the build and leave. It's how we work.

  • Complete lifecycle

Planning, UI/UX, architecture, development, AI integration, testing, deployment, and ongoing support under one roof.

  • Three languages

English, Spanish, and Portuguese in the UI, the store listing, and the support flow, for the markets where we operate.

Questions we get asked

You can, and it will look like a phone app stretched onto a tablet. iPad users expect layouts, multitasking, and Pencil support that a phone design doesn't have. If the iPad is a real part of your workflow, it deserves a real design.

Built for the counter, the clinic, and the job site.
